Macclesfield fail to make it three wins from three matches as they lose at home to visitors Ramsbottom United.
The Silkmen opened the scoring on 23 minutes through Santiago Hanks who tapped home a rebound. But Ramsbottom responded with two quick fire goals through a powerful strike outside of the box on 36 minutes and a near post finish on 38 minutes.However, Macc did not back down as on 56 minutes they tied the game after Lucas Carey tapped in a low cross. Despite this, Ramsbottom won the match with a goal on 71 minutes when a ball across the box was swept into the net.The Silkmen created the first real opening of the game on 12 minutes as a through ball was played to Karmarl Nelson whose first time shot was unfortunately savedMacclesfield then opened the scoring on 23 minutes as Lucas Carey was played in down the right as his shot at goal was saved by the Ramsbottom keeper but only as far as Santiago Hanks who tapped home.
Tristian Kelsey was though called into action on 29 minutes as he produced a great reaction save to maintain Macc’s lead.Soon after on 36 minutes and Ramsbottom levelled the scoring with an unstoppable outside of the box strike which flew past the helpless Tristian Kelsey in goal. The opposition then scored again just two minutes later after a ball into the six yard box was converted from close range. After half time Macc scored their second of the match on 56 minutes to get back into the game as Karmarl Nelson’s shot was blocked before it came to Lucas Carey at the near post who finished off the move. But Tristian Kelsey still had to be alert in goal as on 58 minutes he did really well to come off his line to smother a Ramsbottom strike in the box. Ramsbottom then won the game on 71 minutes as a low cross across the box was tapped into the back of the net at the second try. Macclesfield did throw everything at Ramsbottom in the final minutes of the match but couldn’t create a clear cut chance with the result seeing The Silkmen stay in second place in the league.
